Meet Chris Allington

Therapy asks you to be honest about things that can be difficult, private, messy, or hard to explain. I’m Chris Allington, MA, LPC, LAC, and I’ve worked in behavioral health since 2009. I take the work seriously, but I want therapy to feel human, comfortable, and straightforward.

Why this work

This work has always felt natural to me.

I was drawn to counseling long before it became my career. Listening closely, asking thoughtful questions, and helping people make sense of difficult situations have always come naturally to me.

What has kept me in this work for 17 years is the same thing that brought me to it: I genuinely care about people and want to help them build lives that feel healthier, more connected, and more fulfilling.

I find this work most meaningful when insight turns into change: when someone understands themselves more clearly, responds differently to an old pattern, strengthens an important relationship, or begins living in a way that feels more intentional.

A depth of experience

A wide range of experience for the real world.

Over the past 17 years, I've worked in a variety of behavioral health settings with people from many different backgrounds and life circumstances. This experience has given me both a broad perspective and a practical understanding of what people face, which I bring into my work with every client.

Empathic

I bring warmth and understanding to the parts of life that feel messy, painful, or hard to explain.

A little more about me

A real person on the other side of the screen.

I am a husband of more than 20 years and a dad to two amazing teenagers. Family is the most important part of my life.

I also love hiking, traveling, and getting outside. Some of my favorite trips have involved long hikes, ridiculous views, and apparently a surprising number of animals willing to pose for pictures with me.
